Den store fædrelandskrig (1:10) - serie om den Anden
Verdenskrig set fra Sovjetunionen.
Med op mod 30-40 millioner ofre er Sovjetunionens lidelser i den Anden
Verdenskrig, som i sovjetiske historiebøger bliver kaldt Den store
Fædrelandskrig, ufattelige. Engelsk/russisk dokumentar serie fortæller
historien.
Tabstallene er forfærdende, men næsten endnu mere forfærdende er det, at
det sovjetiske folks krig i virkeligheden var to krige. Den ene var den
krig, som Stalin med stigende paranoia og storhedsvanvid førte mod sit eget
folk, en krig der startede lang tid før verdenskrigen og sluttede længe
efter.
Den anden, der skulle koste så uendelig mange ofre og lidelser, var krigen
mod det nazistiske Tyskland.
Hvilke af de to krige, der krævede flest ofre vil formentligt aldrig blive
kendt, men denne serie på ti programmer giver for første gang et indblik i
og en forståelse af de ufattelige lidelser det sovjetiske folk måtte
gennemgå, før de blev om end ikke frie, så i hvert fald fri for Hitler og

A screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Soviet writer Mikhail
Sholokhov, a Nobel Prize winner.
The film depicts the destinies of the Don Cossacks during the First World
War and the Civil War in Russia. Cossack Grigory Melekhov lives in a
village of Veshenskaya. He is in love with Aksynia, but on his father’s
insistence, has to marry another girl. Finding out about his love affair
with Aksynia, his young wife leaves home. Shortly before the war, Grigory
and his beloved also leave the farm. While on the Austrian front, Grigory
learns of the Czar’s abdication and of the end of the war. He is on his way
home where Aksynia must be waiting for him.

Dostoyevsky.
The 19th-century Russia. A poor student, Rodion Raskolnikov, commits a
crime which is inevitably followed by pangs of conscience: his soul,
burdened by the sin of murder, is torn between faith and faithlessness,
hope and despair. The investigation conducted by detective Porfiry
Petrovich finally points to Raskolnikov. But before his meeting with the
investigator, Rodion experiences a genuine love. This very love will help
him repent.
The life of the mysterious 19th-century St. Petersburg, the strong,
controversial characters and an unexpected outcome hold the viewer in

This gigantic motion picture epic, based on the novel of the same name by
the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, has won worldwide critical acclaim. For
the shooting of the film’s battle scenes, such as the Battle of Borodino or
the 1812 Moscow fire, a regular army was mustered into service, as well as
a specially created cavalry regiment. Over 120,000 soldiers participated as
extras in the crowd scenes. More than 35,000 costumes were made for the
production.

Shortly after Joseph Stalin’s death in 1953, Lavrenty Beria, the omnipotent
NKVD Minister, granted a broad amnesty. Due to it, going at large were
hardened criminals that had been convicted for grave offenсes. Wreaking
havoc in the taiga in search of food and transportation, the bandits come
across a small village where two amnestied political prisoners are waiting
for the arrival of a boat. It fell to those two – the middle-aged Kopalych
and the young Luzga – to defend the helpless villagers from the convicts. The
great Russian actor Anatoly Papanov played his last role (Kopalych) in this
film.

After a long travel in Europe, nobleman Lavretsky returns back home. Everything

Paris, forgets all his past. He desires only one thing – to always be with

The main character of this tragicomedy, Bouzykine, has
a gift for attracting people. He is always ready to offer his helping hand
and cannot refuse anyone. A kind and gentle person, Bouzykine never thinks
about himself, thus getting in all kinds of complicated situations. Making
a choice, showing a preference for something or somebody at the expense of
others is always a problem for him. This goes for his private life, too.
Unwilling to cause pain to his mistress, he unintentionally hurts his wife,
unable to make a final decision till the last moment. However, he tries to
change the habitual course of events, and almost succeeds.

A screen adaptation of the story of the same name by Soviet writer Mikhail
Sholokhov, a Nobel Prize winner.
Andrei Sokolov, the film’s protagonist, had lost in the war with fascist
Germany his wife and children, had survived the horrors of a concentration
camp. He was already being led to be shot, but at the last minute the
camp’s commandant, Muller, revoked the sentence. After his release from the
camp, Andrei Sokolov marched with the Soviet Army as far as Berlin. But
Fate would not stop testing him: on Victory Day he got the news of his son
Anatoly’s death. And in spite of the fact that he seemed to have lost
everything, he remained a good human being and became a father to an
orphaned boy.
The great Russian director and actor Sergei Bondarchuk played the leading
character in his own film, which was to become a hymn to human spirit and
faith in life.

The film is based on the novel “Oblomov” by Russian writer Ivan Goncharov.
The 19th-century Russian landed gentry’s life was idle and boring. Its
representatives had a hard time of finding a purpose in life, of realizing
their potential. Likewise, the film’s protagonist, Ilya Ilyich Oblomov,
refused to work just for the sake of building up his fortune, for he did
not see in it any lofty ideal. Lying on a sofa and indulging in
“philosophical” reflections on the meaning of life, he let the life slip by
him, including the love of his life, Olga. Having despaired of ever getting
to his heart, she married his friend, Shtoltz.

Barbereren fra Sibirien: Svenske undertekster
The film’s action takes place over a hundred years ago, during the rule of
Alexander III. “The Barber of Siberia” is a steam-engined, self-propelling
saw-mill for manufacturing of which the dreamer and adventurist McCracken
(Richard Harris) tries to get a commission from appropriate Russian state
authorities. Jane (Julia Ormond) is dispatched to help McCracken in the
disguise of his daughter who would blackmail the officials of the
Commission on Technical Innovations. On her way she meets Cadet Andrey
Tolstoy (Oleg Menshikov) and his comrades. Jane’s Moscow target is to be
the head of the cadet school General Radlov (Alexei Petrenko) who also
happens to be Deputy Chairman of the Commission. The General gets enamored
with the beautiful foreigner. However, her love preference is Andrey. The
latter, with the fervor typical of a Russian officer, reciprocates. The
showdown takes place… in the theatre. Andrey, playing the part of Figaro in
a student production of “The Barber of Seville”, overcome by jealousy,
attacks Radlov directly from the stage. Unfortunately for Andrey, the
performance is attended by Czarevich Mikhail and Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich
(Yevgeny Steblov), and Tolstoy ends up being accused of an attempt on their
lives. The shackled former cadet is sent to Siberia, followed there by his
servant Dunyasha (Anna Mikhalkova) who is madly in love with him. Will
Andrey ever see Jane and… his son?

The film is based on the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin’s poem of the
same name, which happens to be one of the most poetic and beautiful Russian
fairy tales.
In the midst of the wedding party of Prince Ruslan and Ludmila, daughter of
a Kievan Prince, the girl was kidnapped by the evil sorcerer Chernomor. Ludmila’s
father summoned for help all the mighty warriors and heroes he knew in his
princedom. But only Ruslan, after a fierce fight, succeeded in winning over
Chernomor by cutting off the dwarf’s beard wherein his strength lay. Beautifully
costumed, the film abounds in excellently staged stunts and masterfully
photographed battle scenes.

også Katja og Sanja hvis de ikke lever op til hans forventninger. Sanja får
alligevel et udmærket forhold til sin nye far og Katja lader det ske fordi
hun elsker dem begge. Lige indtil den dag, hvor hun finder ud af, at Toljan
er en professionel tyv og bedrager...

Riaba, min høne (danske undertekster) er en
ægte russisk satire over det nye, kapitalistiske Rusland. Det er morsomt og
tildeles rørende et langt stykke på ad veien. . Vi befinder os i en russisk
landsby. Centralt i handlingen er en 60 år gammel kvinde, som efter bedste
evne forsøger at overleve i den nye kapitalistiske orden. Det er ikke
enkelt. Men hønen Riaba hjælper hende. Landsbyens storkapitalist klarer sig
imidlertid bedre - om end til plage for de andre fattiglus. Eftersom magt
altid korrumperer, forsøger kapitalisten så mange krumspring for at
tilrane sig al magt. Da landsbykvindens elskede høne, Riaba, så
pludselig lægger et ækte, skinnende guldæg - tar' satiren surrealistisk
fart. Et guldæg må være den perfekte, kapitalistiske vare!

En russisk tank er på patrulje i Kaukasus' øde bjerglandskab, da den overraskes
af et baghold. Dødens stilhed hersker, men to russiske soldater er i live.
Sasja og Vanja føres til en lille landsby, hvor de to soldater "med
svineblod i årene" kun får lov til at leve, fordi Abdul-Murat vil
udveksle dem med sin egen søn, som sidder i russisk fangeskab.
Efterhånden binder ikke kun lænkerne Sasja og Vanja sammen. Men tingene går
i hårdknude, da Sasja nådesløst henrettes, og Abdul-Murats søn også mister
livet. er Vanjas gidselværdi er lig nul.

knuse enhver opposition indenfor statsapparatet. Samtidig i de mest
idylliske omgivelser, med høj middagssol, høstklare marker og frodige
lysninger i skoven, samles en familie til en fridag med pjank og fjas. I
centrum er Sergej Kotov - spillet af instruktøren selv, Nikita Mikhalkov -,
en revolutionshelt hvis billede efter sigende hænger over alt. Sammen med
sin unge kone Marosia, deres 6-årige datter Nadja og et farverigt
persongalleri af småskøre familiemedlemmer skal fridagen fejres med mad,
drikke og udendørsliv. Det er med bevidst sammenstilling af vores viden om
de frygtelige hændelser i Sovjet og de skønneste, trygge øjeblikke i
familiens skød, at Mikalkov indleder sin tragi-komiske fortælling. Vi
kender til udrensningerne, men vælger, som familien Kotov, at forsvinde væk
i en ubekymret sommer-sindstilstand.

20 bevæbnede mænd tog i aften et teaterpublikum i Moskva som gidsler.
Ifølge det russiske nyhedsbureau Interfax, der rapporterede fra stedet,
skød nogle af gidselstagerne op i luften. Det russiske nyhedsbureau
Interfax,havde en af deres reporter derinde,da teateret blev stormet, siger
at gidseltagerne har løsladt børnene og nogle af de voksne har fået lov til
at ringe ud af bygningen. Også muslimske medlemmer af publikum har ifølge
Interfax fået lov at gå.
AP oplyser at det drejer sig om den populære russiske musical 'Nordøst' der
var under opførelse,da de bevæbnede mænd stormede teatret. Top

King Lear had three daughters: Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. One day he
banished and repudiated his youngest and most loved daughter. But the evil
elder sisters betrayed their father and blinded him. Having lost not only his
kingdom, but even a plain shelter, the old Lear, accompanied by his loyal
jester, had finally seen the light of truth and was reunited with Cordelia
who was not afraid to share her father’s fate.

The film is based on short stories by Russian writer Yuri Guerman.
The year of 1944. The Second World War. A marine air force regiment is
stationed at a small airfield. For the pilots, this is both the front and
the rear. They live here with their families, leading a seemingly normal
life, giving small parties and even attending concerts of touring artistes.
And yet, any operational flight may prove to be the last one in their life…
The film incorporates the unique wartime documentaries, which were filmed,
on the one side, by the British, and on the other side - by the German
camera men. This work was done at a time when the German bombers attacked
the British caravan of freight ships sailing due Murmansk under the
Lend-Lease Act. On the British part, the filming was done by a camera man
sailing on board of one of the attacked ships. On the German part, there

It's Quiet Here
This dramatic story of women in the war has won numerous international prizes
and awards.
The action takes place during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Russian
Karelia, the autumn of 1941. Five anti-aircraft gunner girls, who are
mostly under twenty years old, and their commander, Sergeant Vaskov,
discover that a German subversive detachment has landed in this, still
far-removed from the front line, locale. The information must be delivered
to the headquarters. However, the saboteurs have broken communications,
cutting off the small group from their own people and leaving them no hope
of getting any help. The enemy endeavors to further penetrate into the rear
of the Soviet army on a mission to destroy a number of essential
facilities. Vaskov and the five girls accept battle, being outnumbered by
